Student funny

So we're reviewing the water cycle (been awhile) and I have students volunteer precipitation and evaporation but for a minute they can't come up with the third. Then a cutie raises his hand proudly and announces, "I know Mrs. B, it's constipation!" It was all I could do to not burst out laughing.

  1. How cute! That is one of the reasons we love to teach first graders!

  2. The ladies in my school have dedicated wyatt-isims to one beloved students.

    Famous Moments of a darling:

His Kindergarten year wrote of the day a few years ago that we had terrible spring fires and the smoke waves hit our school. Wyatt runs across the playground yelling..."I'm a Alcoholic!" "No Wyatt, Your Asthmatic!"

First Grade: Wyatt leaves my carpet and stands near the back exit looking up at the motion detector. Never a dull moment, I watch for the entire mini lesson before asking if everything was ok. "Yep" with a chubby little smile. "I'm having a really good day and wanted Santa to know". Now what you don't know, the Kindergarten teachers told the kids that the motion detector would change colors to red when Santa was watching and otherwise the elves are checking in on the kids when Santa's busy. Yep! Hey was standing patiently awaiting Santa (the red light) to check in on him.

His second grade teacher came to add a clip the following year. She had the kids raise a finger for water, two for a tissue, 3 for the bathroom. Wyatt raises 4. She asked are you confused? Wyatt responds "No; I need to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water. 1+3=4." I will say loud and proud, I am confident he learned his math from me!

Just a few of my favorites! My darling Wyatt has moved on to 4th. I'm pretty sure he will receive a superlative when he leaves our school next year!

  3. The leprechaun visited our house one year on St. Patrick's Eve and turned several things green like the milk, scrambled eggs, etc. Anyway, fast forward to the Nov. after that when my 3 year old was going to the bathroom. He called me in there when he was finished and pointed to what was inside the potty and said in complete seriousness, "I guess the leprechaun did it." I have never laughed so hard in all my life! And this is just the tip of the iceberg of the things this child says.
