Cutest 100 Year Olds Around

When I am 100 I will look like this:
and the kids will look like this:

100th day wouldn't be complete without crowns and glasses. Click to download the crowns and  glasses.

We also counted out 100 o-shaped cereal pieces and then strung necklaces. Click to download the cereal circles here.

Not only was it 100th day and Groundhog Day, it was also a student's birthday who has been counting it down for days! Then to top it off,  I got a surprise new student 10 minutes into class! Having only 29 kids was nice for a few days...  I am EXHAUSTED, but my blog obsession required me to post tonight. Happy 100th Day to all my bloggie friends!

  2. The 100 year old portraits are priceless. I had my 100 day plans made because I was supposed to have a sub but the snow changed that, I just might have to squeeze these in somewhere!

  14. Glad you all liked them!!! Yep, back to 30 students. How do I manage?...Did I mention I'm EXHAUSTED?? ;-)

Can I just say that I am beyond thrilled that Deanna Jump said something of mine was cute!! I have been a fan of hers for years!!!

All I need is a comment from Cara from The First Grade Parade and Babbling Abby and I could die and go to heaven.

I guess that does show my level of blog obsession...

  16. I just love the 100 years old portrait project! So cute!
Our country needs to address the overcrowed classroom issue. Just think what great teachers like you could do with 20 kids.
Lets hope we don't celebrate the 100th day of school by doing counting activities with the number of students in each class in the future!
I taught 2nd and 3rd grade before having twins added to my two year old.
I think about going back, but huge class sizes have been a factor in my decision to not go back to teaching yet. I tutor, blog, and consult with parents who want help teaching their children to read.
I'm sharing your blog with first grade teachers at my chilren's school.

  23. I LOVED your 100 year old portraits. I'm totally copying your idea for next year. We had our students write to this prompt also: "When I'm 100 years old, I will be able to _____ but I won't be able to ______" Their responses are a hoot! My favorite one was, I'll be able to eat grits but I won't be able to jump on the bed!"

This year I have 24 students (I call them my box of crayons)in my first grade classroom. A few years ago, I had 30...22 rambunctious boys and 8 sweet girls. It was not a year of quality teaching! It was more a year of "crowd control". Our 3rd grade teachers only have 15-17. And same for some middle school classes! Where is the justice?
I'm SOOO HAPPY I found your blog! It is awesome!

  25. I wanted to say that I appreciate you very much! As a single mom and K teacher I was so happy to find your free printables after finding that all the others had to be bought! You will be paid for your kindness and generosity someday, I believe that! I believe we should share freely our talents given to us at no price! Right? AGAIN.. THANK YOU!!!! I just got started and you have inspired me to stay completely FREE!!!! Amber Voss
