Goodbye to my Teaching Mentor

Sadly, my 94-year-old grandmother passed away. I still remembering visiting her classroom when I was  young. She believed every child was special and made you feel that way. Rita had the perfect blend of sweetness and spunk! I only hope I can touch half as many people as she did with her time here.

The family flew from all over the country to our beach house on Long Island for our final good byes. It was a pretty emotional few days for all of us.

So I apologize that I am a little late announcing that Kerry Tinsley is the winner of my Sight Word Go Fish: Fry Words 1-100!
Go hug or call your loved ones! Funerals sure do make you appreciate how little time we really have.

  1. I'm sorry for your loss. My grandmother was in her 90's when she passed away a few years ago and I still miss her everyday. May many wonderful memories of your grandmother bring you comfort and peace in the days ahead.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. Your are so right that, unfortunately, it often takes a drastic or sad event for us to remember to treasure the blessings we have with us all the time. I'm glad you and your family had this time together to love on each other and to share the wonderful blessing your Nana was. Keeping you all in my prayers as you travel this emotional journey.
